Gentex Showcases SSL-Enhanced Electronically Dimmable Windows at AIX 2025

Today at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX), Gentex is introducing a new enhancement to their electronically dimmable windows (EDWs) – a switchable scattering layer (SSL) technology designed to further enhance the passenger in-flight experience.

Next-Gen Dimmable Windows

Gentex’s switchable scattering layer (SSL) enhanced EDW lowers the reflected light to minimize the mirror effect of the EDW. The SSL enhanced EDW also enables passengers to use SSL independently, allowing light in while maximizing privacy within the aircraft. Both technologies fail clear in an emergency for passenger and crew member’s safety.

However, SSL-enhanced EDWs are just one of the many innovations Gentex is bringing to AIX 2025. Gentex’s fuselage demonstrator will highlight the full scope of possibilities that a partnership with Gentex can bring to the aerospace industry.
